Mental Disorders

The steps involved in establishing epidemiological parameters for mental disorders include:

· Conducting systematic reviews of prevalence, incidence, remission and mortality

· Deriving missing data for age groups, countries and GBD regions

· Calculating remission and mortality estimates

· Testing data for internal consistency

· Modeling for disability weight estimates

· Conducting preliminary calculations for burden of disease estimates

 

The Research Group supports and assists the Mental Disorders and Illicit Drug Use Expert Group through identifying data, resolving methodological issues, preparing reports and responding to enquiries.
